I went to start the GT today and the starter turned for about 2 seconds, then the whole car shut off. Nothing works, not even the power door locks or keyless entry. Normally, I would assume this is the battery, but I have not had any trouble with it at all and it is not very old. I am going to get the battery tested, but I am not sure if this is the problem. Could this be another problem such as relays or anti - theft? Any suggestions will be helpful!

ummm. nothing works? i would think battery. batteries have been known to go bad within a month or so. other than that i cant think of anything. becuse the anti theft just would not allow it to start. windows would still work.

This may seem like a stupid question, but it has gotten me a couple times... Are the battery cables tight/clean?

Cars have a way of humbling people that way... When it happened to mine it was because the cable was loose... It did the exact same thing... Cranked for two seconds or so, then died and no lights or anything.

I had a similiar problem last sunday with my car. I thought it was my remote start alarm (have problems with it). but come to find out, my battery which i bought at les schwab a year and a half ago went completely dead over the weekend. I was told that my 200 watt amp (small) did most of the work to kill it, but who knows. I bought a red top optima battery for only $90 bucks brand new (reg. $160) and i'm happy so far. Good luck

thankx. It was the battery. Crazy how it just went dead. Probably from me using the A/C alot all of a sudden. Crazy California heat. Purchased a new Exide Select battery and she fired right up!
