Got the SRT-4!! Woo Woo!!

I am the proud new owner of a Black SRT-4!! Woo! Woo!! Damn work, i wanna go drive it now!! I'm a boost junkie after one day! This car kicks ass!!

I got it at Gary Barbara's Dodge land. It was the worst bait & switch of my life.. I called, asked if they had any SRT-4's, they said they had 3 in stock at 21k a pop.. So I drag my mom with me threw rush hour traffic down to maniyunk to go pick one up & when we get there, there is only 1 & going for 25k!! OMG I was ****ed..

I ended up walking out & as i opened the door for my mom, the salesman reconsidered & sold it to me for 21k.. Talk about false advertising.. Ugh..

But I honestly love this damn car! Hehe! Damn, it makes my modded out tha ass Spec V seem slow in it's stock form.. I think springs may be my only mod, but don't mark my words.. I've said that a thousand times before..

hehe, mechanical in the back only.. talk about ghetto. atleast I got black so it covers up all the plastic outside.. hehe

Pat, the Spec V was totalled on the 23rd of May when a mack truck driver weaved into my lane & basically tore teh front end of my car off :( She was totalled as of Tuesday.. But I did get 17,350 back for it because I kept every single receipt for my mods..

HOLY S...insurance didnt give you a hard time about that huh? Damn good thing I save all my receipts too. Did they pro-rate the value of your mods or give you the full worth? Thats great man so you basically paid most of the neon off.

Greg, I sent in a bunch of ads for similar Spec V's with the same mileage going at way above what they offered. 14.3k at first.. With the mods & local dealership prices it threw my return way up. I was so happy to hear the price they were gonna give me. I only owed 13.8k on my Spec V so that is paid off & I used the rest as a downpayment on the SRT-4, 5k to be exact, with 2k outta my own personal savings.. . I wish I had 17.5k to drop on a new car ;)

FYI: def keep every single receipt & back it up with pictures as proof, my cardomain page actually saved me a lot of aggravation..

It is rather ghetto that we don't have power windows in the back, but I say screw the passengers. I'm looking out for #1...LOL Anyways, I'm friggin envious. I like the set up in my Neon, but I want an SRT-4 so bad. You'll have to take it to the track and let us know what you run.

It puts my Spec V to shame! I took a ride with 4 people in the car last night & the boost was still spiking at 15psi & pushing us all back into our seats :D My buddy David & I went for a cruise, only to have a 60 year old guy in a Camaro SS wave us over & try to race me for money.. I said no, then he said how about for some candy, lmao! I def live this little domestic **** rocket!

Yeah Dan's new whip is kick-ass... even with me, Dan and my girl the boost really puts you back in the seat. my only real critisism is that the side bolsters on the lower part of the seat tend to grab your nutz when you' re trying to exit. On the plus side... when Dan rips past you at full throttle the boosted 2.4 sounds like a friggin jet engine...literally

I was just reading Sport Compact Car mags website and their review of the SRT-4. Specs say the car has 215hp/245tq. Well, they dyno'd theirs and it actually had

223hp/250tq....AT THE WHEELS!!

Now, how many times can you say that a manufacturer understated the specs???

The stock spring tension on the waste gate arm is set to only 4lbs. This causes an issue when running higher boost levels. If you have your boost set to anything higher than 13 psi, it will settle back down to 13PSI once you cross the 4k RPM mark. With the E.D. Spring mod, you will be able to hold a higher boost level up to red line.

You gotta order a different wing.. You have a bunch of different Neon wings to pick from. But I like the fact this little bugger actually backs the big wing up ;)

Another cool thing is, the hood scoop is funtional :) it runs directly to the turbo to cool it off :)

UPDATE: Saw Dan this weekend and his new ride. THAT CAR IS FOCKIN SICK!!!!! It doesn't sound like your typical turbo, very growly and when he punches it, it sounds like an F18 taking off from a carrier.

He spanked the living hell out of me from a 60MPH roll. The faster we went, the more ground I lost exponentially!

AMRAAM4, Hey, what does your GA run now? still a 14.9? Have you ever run your car without your 30+lb 18" rims? I know a lot of GTPs have them and they run horrible times compared to stock tires, some guys ran 13.7s now 14.2s no matter what they do, the heavy wheels slow you down a ton.

Dan, your car sounds pretty fast, i think i have some good competition here above 60mph, hehe..

Id still like to see ya keep up to 60 though:thumbs:


fyi, a buddy of mine has a modded n/a early 90s 3.1L sfi v6 cavalier. runs 14.6s as his best time at 93mph, lol... Hes got some good internal mods done to it, but i think ill follow his lead in modding my 98 GA when i have the money as id love to see that car hit 13s someday.
