I used Mandrel bent conduit tubing and the intake Elbow of a Prelude with a K&N Filter on the end and man did I notice a difference all over the RPM Band. Probably because I had a ****ty WAI Before. I have no "In the fender shots but tell me what you think

The Red Silicon Cuppler (TB-MAF) was 12$ Black 3 inch PVC cuppler (MAF-intake Tube) was 10$ 2 1/2 intake tube 12$ Elbow 5-10$ Plus the cost of the filter
Total was about 45$ then the cost of the filter
EDIT: Just to let you know i had to cut the Bat Tray and move the Bat Forward a bit. also in the fender i had to bend away the bracket for the stock intake tube setup. Its a Snug fit but its all solid and dosent move. I'm verry happy with the wat it turned out!

That's really sweet, man. I would do that, but i'm saving up for an APoC. Maybe you could try getting some chrome spray paint and paint the tubing to make it look shiny? Don't know if that'd be too labor intensive now that it's all in and stuff, but it's just a thought.

Yeah i was thinking of painting it but the only thing is that it get pretty dot under my hood and I dont want it to melt right of i painted my maf with high temp engine pain and for some reason it just melts right off i mean this **** is saposed to be good up untill 1200 D

that piping looks really narrow. Hopefully it's at least 3 inch other wise i think you might be choking your engine. I was gunna do that same thing with a civic intake but the piping was only 2.5 inches and i was told my mechanic that my engine would run worse because of the smaller intake.
just a thought

I have a CAI honda civic style and before i had a K&N cone on the end of my throttle body. Trust me there is a difference. You gain HP. Maybe not as much as you could but you definately get something!!! By the way that looks good!!!

wtf I dont know who Toled you that But 2.5 will work just fine In no way will it chock your engine The Stock air box offers way more restriction and it dosent choke your engine.
How big is the apoc anyways?

There is a mathematical formula for this somewhere. But 2.5 definately is perfectly fine. I heard somewhere that the bigger your tubing and filter the worse it can get depending on your engine. who knows.

Very True If You are running 30LBS of boost into a 8L you might need to go with bigger tubing but 2.5 for a NA engine is just fine, Even most Minor turbo setups dont use 3 Inch. It all depends on the engine

Blackrider... What kind of couplers did you use? Im looking for something to fit my cone filter with a 3 1/2 inch base onto an intake with a 3" pipe, need some kind of reducer, any ideas??

why didn't you just save money and buy the
right CAI for the car............just a question
don't kill me?

Whattya mean the "right" CAI? All the CAI is is a tube that runs to a location to draw in cool air and a filter on the end to reduce the amount of junk that gets in your engine. When you buy from APOC you're definately getting a quality intake, but you're paying more for looks than quality... IMHO. You can buy the tubing and an inverted K&N filter and build your own CAI a lot cheaper.
I mean... correct me if I'm wrong here...

I agree with the above 2...........By the way I know how to make the honda civic CAI a functional ram air too. I just need a week so i can get a lil more money and ill build it. Then I'll try to get someone to take pics so u can see. But it will be pretty easy.
