magna flow

i've got a question. i installed a magna flow on my 00 gt, the soung isn't bad but i would like it a little louder. does anyone know if i remve the resinator if that will effect the sound? or have any other suggestions on how to increase the sound?

yes, it will make it loouder. I wanted mine louder too so I removed the resonator and it was perfect! Also, give it time to break in a little and you'll notice a change in the sound.

it will take more than a week for it to break in. It will definitely get louder as time goes on. And yes removing the resonator will make it a little louder, thats what i did with my borla.

does anybody have a sound clip of a dual magnaflow exhaust on a v6? every link for it i find is broken or dead, or for a 4 cylinder equipped car!

theirs a 4cyl exhaust clip from magnaflow floating around from a while ago. just search for soundclips. 4cyl definately doesnt even compare to the 6cy tone though. my buddy has magnaflow on his cavy and it sounds like a weedwacker, lawnmower, mosquito, bumble bee, whatever the heck u wanna call it. the magnaflow for a 6 on mine sounds like a camaro at idle, but when u are around 2k rpm's it gives an awesome tone. i would recommend it.

yeah i heard the 4 cyl. but i was hoping someone on the boards had one downloaded to their computer. if someone does have one for a dual magnaflow exhaust on a 6 cyl. please post it on here since all the other links are broken and dead!

thanks guys, someone told me that if i remve the res. all that's going to do is make it louder in the car? i'm looking for louder outside the car?

no, the res removal will make it louder both ways. the cabin noise is relatively nothing though in comparison to what it is now though, so it's not that big of a deal. kyle is right though, i like my magnaflow with no res more every day. the longer you have it, the better it will sound. i was kinda where you were at first, but give it time, and know that it is much louder from outside. if you trust someone enough, let them drive it so you can check it out, or if not that, a parking garage is sure to bring a smile to your face!
