Well howdy! I just found this board (And I was looking for just this sort of place too!) and I'm looking for some advice on what to do next. I have a 99 Grand Am GT with a K&N filter and the SLP cat back exhaust, SC/T hood (Non functional... yet) and a rear spoiler delete. Now, what other mods get you the 'best bang for the buck'? I'mTrying to keep it cheap when possible. Sooooo, what say you all? I'm looking for 'seat of the pants feel', stoplight to stoplight performance, not top end charge power. You know, something to keep the ricers in their place... Thanks!

Hit up pfyc.com ..
Off the top of my head... DHP PCM, GMS MAF, intake.. start there.

Defineately work on the air intake because a good deal of our mods give you top end. Either that or just blow ricers away by hitting the 1/8 before they react. I do that all the time.

Thanks for the fast replys, however, now I'm feeling old and stupid... I need translations... Please expand the words the go with: "DHP", "PCM", "GMS" & "MAF" I understand Intake... Thanks!
From what I've read, there seem to be two ways for going about this, one would be reprograming the computer chip, the other looks to be, sort of, fooling the computer by changing it's sensor information. Or can the two work together? I'm an old school Hot Rodder and I get, easy air in easy air out = more power + better economy. So far the SLP exhaust and K&N have helped both, I get my kicks behind the wheel and the wife gets 4 more miles to the gallon. Soooo, same question but please, simple answers for a simple guy! Thanks again!
