2.25 stock, but is 2.5 ok?

This weekend i'm going to buy my muffler either from Jegs or a place by my house called Ramchargers. The thing I'm curious about is I think i'm supposed to get this one (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1308&prmenbr=361) <=the first one, 82-85 camaro 72.99 but it says 2.5 in/2.5 out. I already have some 2.5 tips lined up, but I'm confused with the inlet. We have 2.25 so am I supposed to get 2.5 tubing now? where from, the cat back? Can someone help me out real quick please?

Sure, have them make you a 2.5" main pipe or if you need to use the stock main pipe they can put a reducer on the muffler inlet to downsize it to work with your stock main pipe.
