Hey everyone;
I am looking to get the spring rate information for eibach prokit springs and sprint springs for the 96-98grand am's

I called Eibach and they dont give the info out and neither does Sprint Springs. I called Intrax and they gave me the info FRONT 135/199 REAR 107/214.

Now I have a goofy question. I know that cavalier coils are like 450 front and 350 rear. Now how can a lighter car have heavier duty springs then a heavier grand am? Or am I not readin the info right? Thanks to anyone who help.

Cause they like a stiff ride...........? But when you see spring rates that high and higher they are basically made with rally racing in mind. I have seen 1400# springs all the way around. lol

Well I was maybe thinking that spring height has something to do with it. Like a 10" 500# spring is the same as a 5" 1000# spring? Does that make sense?

What do you guys use on your alero coilovers you are making? What brand and spring rate are you using?

we used h&r 200# springs, but I think we are changing the spring rates at least for the stock strut setup to a higher one(too bouncy with 200s). 200# with the KYB setup rides like a dream though. We are also changing spring suppliers i do believe, so they may not be h&r's anymore.

What spring length do you use? are they a long spring?

yes they are long. too long to give any signifant drop without making major modifications to the strut like we do with our setups.

I think that's the real secret. You have to have a long enough spring to compensate for the weight and still do a comfy ride.

no not really. you have to have better damping(struts) as well. the 200# springs with stock struts road like hell.
