As some of you might know, last year I had a little problem with some members on the board, because i didnt race them. Everything is cool between us now, so if you want to race me list your name below for all to see.

Haha Blue paint fumes rock man!!! :) So do the silver from the interior and the varsol tryin to get the red off so I could paint it silver Oh well, and with the 1/4mi we'll see what happens at GAP :)

ok, after reading this thread, i got to work quickly on my 2.4. i've constructed blue prints of the plan to run a 1/4 mile of 13.731 exactly. now, i've already started and i'm too far now to stop. now... we all cannot beat spaz using my technique, but we can form an alliance... i will share my evil ways with those that are willing to click this attachment link right here...

I plan on racing more than 5 times, but i want to race the people that really have a shot a beating me so i know that i am the fastest 99 GA or Alero.

I don't know. You don't run w/it on all the time. (The power isn't a constant.) You do have to open the bottle just for a run then supposed turn it off afterward. Is this cheating?

Well to me this question also holds the same answer !!!

***There arn't to many rules to street racing, and if your at the track and it's a test and tune day , then you'ed better be expecting anything.

Certain things that are cheating would be .......lets say Sammy Sosa loading a bat or two...

Even before i had Nitrous i loved it, because i'm a speed guy. That is why i like all cars no matter what type if there fast !!!

I don't think it's cheating. You had to buy and install the parts just like any other power modification. It also has it's good and bad points, just like any other mod you do to your engine.

If I was going to GAP I would love to run..... but that won't happen because I couldn't register. But I have family in MA so maybe I could one day (after my turbo, heads, cam, and maybe even pistons depending how long I take getting the top end done)

yeah, street racing (1st time) in albuquerque is a $500 ticket + 1 night in jail + impounding of your vehicle (depending on your speed, if clocked). i'd rather keep my car, my money, and respect from friends and family than not being called a "*****" on the internet

the way my car sits now it should pinch off low to mid 13's. but we will see after the next track day. oh and by street tires do you mean drag radials or regular tires?
my 60' is 2.3-2.4 and I have to ease into it off the lien to even get that :(

Had a 3.8 didnt work out long story there is a very detailed thread about it on GMP and no its not a turbocharged 2.6 its stands for 2.6 (T)win (C)am I traded the 3.8 for this motor all the mods where already done too it except for a few. But anyways im ready to run im all motor most of the time with an auto trans should be an easy kill I also got my 1/4 times and they were sweet as hell ill post the times later when i can scan & upload the slips.

OK, trying to clear things up.

Some of you guys, mostly the newer ones must think that I'm hell bent on being the Fastest and your sort of right, but lets try and keep it real.

I put up this post, because last year a few people didn't get to race me. Trust me it's not like I was scared of them, it's just that last year was my 1st GAP, and I wanted to take out the people i thought were the Fastest..........(like) GM's Jay Stokes, RSM's Vortec car and others. I had allot to prove last year, because people as a whole SUCK, and always like to tell other people that ..."you can't do that"..or.."that won't work"......etc.
So i was out to prove all doughters wrong !!!

I didn't race some of the cars at GAP02, because i didn't think it was worth my time. From that said i turned out to be wrong, two of those cars were fast as hell, and I only wished i could have raced them !!!

So to be funny this year i posted "who wants some" so this would not happen again !!!

I ran it at the track with about 190 HP at the engine...managed to get a 15.1 with 0 engine mods. Only things that were done was a 9" K&N, and 2 1/2" downpipe to the res. with no cat.

Alero....how is your tranny? Do you have a differant gear ratio in it? Cause I do :D lol I am saying right now that we estimate 325 HP from the engine MINIMUN. Its going to be turbocharged, 14" rims, drag radials, i/c, 36 lbs/hr injectors, and much more. I'd like to break 12's by next yr.

Yes Aleroboy you are correct, they will need over 300+ to take down anyone of the Big Boys.

Because in a 3300lb. car that runs high 13's to low 14's you will need atleast 300hp to keep up !!!!

Do you run a 95 transmission with lower gears and a kevlar clutch set-up or something newer ???

My car is a 1995 Grand Am GT. I took out the stock 3100 SFI engine and put in a 3400 SFI from the venture van (185 hp/215 torque). My transmission's stock gearing was 2.93 on the transaxel, now its 3.29. All the internals are kevlar, the valvebody is modified, i have differant sprag's, selinoids, and more done to it. I am taking my car to Fast Chips soon to get all the shift points changed to the regearing, with also the fuel curves, rev limitor, speed limitor, and more changed up. I expect to run high 14's once thats finished up.

I had two 68 Impala's, one with a stock 327 , and the other with a BUILT 350. It was hard to tell the cars apart in the day time. So at night races they didnt know what hit them.....:D

And for you people who didnt see it yet...here is a pic...I know its hard to see, but a few ppl from the forums have had a ride in it and saw it in person. Like GTManiac was one of the few ppl on here who actually heard my tires break loose when it shifted into 2nd gr at 45 mph.

I cant get one cause its too dark out and they came out ****ty....but here is a lil bit older one. I now have a strut tower brace, and the optima is relocated to the trunk.

I painted the intakes myself also. The complete swap took me a complete time of only 8 hrs to do.

Nothing inside that engine makes it produce that power.
its all to do with the exhaust and airbox the van has.

I beat a buddies grand am in denver.
its a 95 4 door with a 3400 with a vortech running 13 psi.

oh and spaz we are pretty close in weight
my car weighed in at 3300 with me and arround a 1/4 tank

and my tranny is doing ok. no internal mods to her yet.

Slicks will definately help ya.
They would get me extremely close to 13's up here
but my tranny would spew all over the place.
so now I save up for the tranny build, a few appearence mods, and gap next year.
I'm sick of not going :(

How in the hell did you intercool your supercharged 3400?


Also about the guy with the 3.29 gear ratio... why didnt you get the 3.33 gears out of the 4t60e's out of the W-body's? One thing though, at berettafest the guys with the 3400 and the 3.33's werent hookup that well at the track and were hitting mid 15's. yeah these are in the berettas too.

I ran a 14.3 with my 2 stage n2o and wai and borla exhaust and no hood.

since then i have run high 8's in the 8th with a max ported stock maf and iat override, single side ported throttle body with bypass, cai and a few other small things.

now i have a fully ported throttle body both sides and intake plenum.....maf is thin as can be....... and i will have my dhp pcm sometime this week!!!!

i wish you were in texas...i would love to juice ya!!!

i think i should be running mid 13's with all this? my 8th should be 8.5's or 8.3's???!!! 60 Foot times have always been 2.0's

next project......heads, headers, and p & p lower intake and pistons (if i can find them).

by the way...since i've ported the TB my EGR sensor has been causing my SES light to come on....if i give you the codes ...can you diagnose the problem..... my idle is about 600 rpm's too high now at idle and in gear i have tohold the brake to prevent the car from moving at 20 mph...without touching the gas! should i check the egr???

My car might be slower than yours, but it looks good too! I just hope that's your race car, and that you actually drive something else day to day. :D

Nothing you said about the ported TB made much sense, but that shouldn't have anything to do with the EGR because the EGR is hooked to the manifold. If I had to make a guess, since you're idling to high and throwing codes, I'd say you screwed up something with the idle air control valve on the TB or with your MAF. You never want to port your MAF sensor or it will have a fit, and just porting the TB won't do anything (good that is). You need a bored TB with a bigger throttle plate. Best to leave that to the pros. Also, why would you use the IAT over-ride mod if you're running a big shot of nitrous? That increases the advance of ignition timing which is not very safe with NOS. Not trying to be hard on you here, but it sounds like you're trying very hard to blow up your engine.:confused:

Sounds like you are working the way we all thought best in the beginning. Those mods have been done and results found, Aaron knows what's up. With our PCMs/sensors porting, boring, etc. is not always logical. See the light, feel the performance.

disconnected the battery last night.... the light is out!
i took a hammer and flattened my TB plate out a little ...then put it back in....seems to have made the gap smaller and the idle did go down 500 rps....i now sits at 1000 rpm ...

so far the egr SES light has not come back on....
idle did not go wrong till i worked on tb......i thought it was aluminum particles.....sprayed intake cleaner and repaired gap on tb...seems to have fixed it...

the code must have been from the extra air at idle and it must of made more gas build up and jacked with the egr??

great thing about the iat override is that when you have a full bottle....you can take it off!!! i am not that mechanically un-inclined! i know better than to spray with an iat override....but if you think about it...running richer would prevent detonation..less air more fuel?

so far the car feels (seat of the pants) faster..... also the intake is louder, which means it is getting more air.....

porting the upper intake inlet and the TB and MAF have made a slight difference.... seems like i was right...but i did screw up by getting too greedy on the TB p&P but that is fixed now (thanks to my trusty hammer)

i havent sprayed in weeks....... i was wondering how the dhp would react to the nitrous?

ya'll still didnt answer my questions about the added mods from my 14.3 run? and my hood is usually on....i took it off at the track....as well as spare..backseats...panels...and other crap ...
at the track it a race car...and elsewhere it is my "Grocery Getter"
to make this car hit low 14's you gotta take off the gloves....lighter fists fly faster and punch harder!

Currently the fastest N2O in the states? Ok, I gotta call ya on that one. What'd you say you ran? 14.3? The fastest N2O time is currently by PACE with a 13.86@96.1mph, which I was on hand to witness. It's a little early to start talkin' smack here newb'. Some people don't like that around here.;)

Well 14.3 at sea level is pretty weak with all that gutting Considering I ran a 14.8 4900 feet above sea level with everything in the car except the spare tire.

Well at that track they dont let you run in the groove on street tires so traction is not there
at a higher track... Bandimere I ran a 2.2 60'
but the 1/4 mile was slower.
after the tranny is beefed up I'll be getting some better tires to lower the 60'

Are you running a dry system?
your engine should not be getting any hotter on the bottle
if it is you may be running lean

Beware the DHP... it will not help hunting for power with big shots of N20.... Start a NEW THREAD in the Boost/Turbo/N20 Section... you can get answers that way....... This thread is going OT and will be closed just before the GAP.
