I posted a while back about this and tried a couple of products on the 99 GAGT clrearcoat aluminum wheels. I tried the Mothers mag and aluminum polish and Meguires and neither took the stains out. Someone mentioned some clearcoat polish but I never found any at stores like autozone/pepboys/advanced auto parts. Anyone else with the pre-chrometech wheels found a way to get the staining out? By the way I tried things like windex, eagle a to z, orangestuff, etc. I'm going to try a couple more ideas but then it will be down to have someone acidize them and pay the $$$.

Use a claybar and put a wax or polish on it

Thanks, I just got the clay bar kit, I wasn't sure if it would do wheels also. I pray it works nice, I just want my shiny wheels look back.:D

Claybar does everything :) Can't guarantee that it will work, but it's worth a shot. Definately wax/polish them when you wax/polish the rest of your car. Helps cut down on debris getting ground int here and also makes it 1000x easier to clean

Have you ever taken the wheels off to clean the inside? I've done it a couple times but never to do more than spray wheel cleaner and hose it off. I should be claybarring tonight or tomorrow so I'll post a reply as to whether my wheels have been redeemed or not.

I've cleaned the insides once. It was a PITA... Could not get them clean for the life of me. The brake dust and road grime had worked it's way into the pores of the aluminum.
