Ok, I took the plunge and bought my system. Iam sure many of you read my post a while back about what I was planning to buy, and I actually stuck with exactly what I had planned. Not exactly top of the line stuff but I am not looking for competition sound, plus I got an awesome deal (just under $600 for everything). Anyway, it's time for me to do my first install and I want to do this right. Where did everyone run the amp and speaker wiring through? I am mainly concerned on how to go from the battery into the cabin and then into the trunk. Which side of the car do you recomend, should I tape to wires down to the sheetmetal to help prevent rattles? Any install knowledge that you can pass on to this beginner is much appreciated.

Thanks a lot guys,
Brian

Well first of all when you run your power wire into the cabin make SURE you use a boot or grommet- same thing. Do not run thru your door jam or anything like that. Use a boot because if not it will ground the wire out and fire fire. You need to run the Power wire down the drivers side door jam, pull up your panels and put the wire under the carpet and replace panels. Then your going to have to take out your back seat - just the portion you sit your butt on and you can find a hole to insert the wire thru.

I need to back up here. Do not connect your Power wire until you have everything hooked up that is your last step. Make sure you use your fuse holder as well.

Your remote wire usually runs on the passenger side with your RCA cables.

Tools you will need are A hex bit for your fuse holder, Power wire cutters, The right size socket for your battery post, some wire crimpers, and a screwdriver. I think thats probably about it.

1. Run your wires
2 connect your wires(remote wire, RCA cables) to your cd player and run them back to the trunk.
3.Connect wires to amp and speaker wires to your sub.
4. Connect power wire to battery and insert fuse.

Hope this helped.

I ran the amp power wire through the rubber grommet around the steering shaft. All the other wiring went down the driver's side. I pulled the door sill pieces and ran the wires through the B-pillar plastic trim piece. (Mine is a 4 door) Once it was to the bck of the door I ran the wiring underneath and behind the rear seat. (sounds more complicated than it is) It was a smooth and quick install, could have been much worse. I don't have pics, but if you need more details let me know.

i ran my power wires from the engine compartment through the whole that all the other wires come through.(just up and to the left of the cover under the dash on the drivers side)... i cut a very small slit in the grey rubber plug and ran my wires through and then siliconed around it on both sides...........and as far as running wires to the trunk...make sure your speaker wires and power wires are on different sides of the car to cut down on line level noise.......the kick panels along the door and carpet area come up real easy so running the wires takes a matter of min.....hope this helps

Did mine alot like everyone else, except I did'nt take out my seat. I don't know if all GA's are like mine ('00 GAGT coupe with leather sport interior), but I took off the side panel in the back seat and ran my wires through there (just snaps off). That's where all the factory wiring was. Once behind the panel, there are two grommets to run your wire through, depending on where you want the wire to end up at. If your mounting your amp to the back of the seat, their way may be the best. Good luck and post sum pics when you finish!
