Which stock system do you have again? Is it the basic tape deck, basic cd, or the premium cd/tape with the 6 speaker with "sub" and possibly steering wheel controls?

im almost positive its just the basic cd with tape player. it has the equalizer too. im like 99% sure it is not monsoon, cuz nowhere on it does it say monsoon, tho not sure if they actually do say it or not, my freinds se2 did say monsoon.

Yeah, that's the premium sound system. They did'nt start using the monsoon until 2001. I can't tell you what you should do, but I have the same system and I started with the subs. When you turn down the bass on the factory speakers they sound alot better. Now I'm working on replacing the factory speakers and amping them. I may or may not change out the HU.

usually people replace their fronts first and get a head unit to go along with it. then comes the bump. i got the bump first :p

heh, IMO that's a waste of money. good imaging states mid+highs up front, lows down back. i disconnected my rear speakers and have found it sounding nicer this way. also becuz off the offset time it takes for rear speakers to get to your ears, when fronts are faster (i read that on some caraudio site).
alotta people leave out rear fill becuz front staging is WAYYY more important. in cases, rear fills can ruin imaiging :(

True on the mids and highs thing, but I got the 6X9's for free so it didn't hurt any. =)
