225/50-16 is stock. Your speedo will be off, and you'll have a little slower take offs and slower ET's with larger tires. Its up to you. I don't know if there would be clearance issues or not.

It is just a wider tire not a taller one that is all. It will not effect the speedo unless it is taller. Just curious about width fitting?

they will fit, yes

they are wider AND taller

it is a taller tire too and will affect the speedo. the 50 in the tire size means 50% of 245 or 225. So the sidewall on the 225 is 112.5 and 122.5 on the 245.

I'm running the 245/50/16's on the back of my 99 GT with stock wheels. I've put a few hundred miles on them and so far, no problems. The 'Low Tire Pressure' light has yet to go off. The tires are about an inch taller then the 225/50/16's that I'm running on the front. The bigger back tire's fill the rear fenderwell nicely!

Yes but it only works on 99's, IIRC it gave a lot of false postives so they disabled for '00 and newer. I have the cutout on the dash, but it doesn't light up when I turn on my car.

With 90,XXX mikes on the clock, it's been a very useful feature for me. Most every time it's gone off, there was a tire problem of some kind. I'm surprised it was dropped after the first year.
