Can you do it?

Putting the rear pads on the front is a bad idea. They are smaller and not meant to handle 85% of the braking like the front pads. I don't even know if either one would fit in the other as I still have the same stock rear pads at 85,000 miles. What made you want to do it?

I think he means like front carbon metallic and rear kevlar.
or whatever.

Oh that's what he means, then yes.

The rear pads do very little. Why not go with cheaper pads? I have over 115000 miles and have finally changed my rear pads. They didn't need it yet, I just did it while I had time.

He may be thinking of buying real cheap pads for the rear and then good ones up front. Which I never even thought of doing for whenever I actually replace the rears. I'm at 85,000 miles now. Greed4Speed when did you replace front rotors?

I would rather put pads with more bite in the rear for increased stopping power... I used to think fade doesn't exist in our cars until yesterday when I did a full 120 - 0 stop... First time I smelled my brakes on this car!

EBC recommends not to use their pads on the back if you are not going to use their pads on the front.

I guess they are of the opinion that pads with a higher friction level should be on the front... or at least if there is a large difference like you would see from EBC's vs normal pads.
