Installed my strut tower braces (03 GT) and the power cable on the top back part of the altinator bumped the brace and blew my altinator! YES IT IS INSTALLED PROPERLY!!! for those who want to know...I get my car back from the dealer tomorrow (he he he warrenty work!!!) lucky me! Any suggestions on this one?
Problem: when you stomp on the gas the engine torqs backwards and the red cable with a black boot bumps the brace and grounds out your brakes, and blows your altinator.
HELP ME FIND A SOLUTION.......!

Sounds like the insulation may have worn away some how, or it was faulty to begin with. Something like that should NEVER happen, unless you had a wrench/other tool slip and it cut the insulation.

No Tools or anything, and if i put it on the other way it will actually hit the altinator. I cant figure it out. but I want the bar on since i bought it. I am not going to put it on until i have a full proof solution, I dont know? at least Pontiac replaced my altinator for free! he he he! SHHHHHH! what they dont know cant hurt them!!!!

cant do the pics...Pontiac still didnt get the altinator yet. I will try to explain. The longer of the arms on the mounting bracket are pointing to the front and the shorter ones face the back (firewall).
Hope that helps...I read some other posts some time ago and was cautious as to how to install it. I dont know man.

What kind of braces??? I would tell ya that something wacky went on with the wiring. Make sure that shiz is wrapped this time around and you will be fine, even if the wires wanna tap the brace on acceleration.

I think what he means is, on some of the newer 03's, the main plug boot is ontop of the alternator. Mine is under the alternator. But grounding it out, thats one I haven't heard.
