Hey my friend has a the car from the thread title. He has a CAI and exhaust. i man not sure if he would take some of the same routes as we would on how to get our cars going. But I wanted to know if anyone in here has any ideas on what headers he should get and, possibly what else he can do. Plz no flaming....... I know many of you dont like imports. But this is for a good friend, and unlike most ricers he likes our cars too:thumbs:

I'd say either DC Sports or JG Edelbrock is the way to go.
I was going to get one of the two before my Integra got wrecked.

sounds good so far... thnx for the help. I'll let him know. I think he is looking for headers for around 250 but i will tell him that you have to pay for performance, so just keep the info coming if possible.

I have a DC sports on my car... It's also carb legal. but for bit better performance get the HP racing one, which is not carb legal. Why not tell him to save up little more money and drop a B16 in there for around $1000. he'll be running low 15's high 14's with just the motor considering he's got a hatch. But since it's an SI it weights a little more so I'm guessing low 15's

Well I want him to start modding his car, hes got a cai, and a exhaust. We have been talking about a b16 for awhile. ANd im talking him into doing headers! I wnat him to have a lil more kick. He doesnt have the money for a b16 right now. But whats the website to one of these headers? ANd how much. thats our main thing........I know if you want to make a car fast u have to spend....

I would look around on e-bay you can get good deals there... I wouldn't pay more than $170 for a used DC one as far as new I wouldn't pay more than $270 The reason I sugusted a B16 is that you can build on that motor and it will respond to mods better than a stock motor. Plus if he's going to do a swap done down the road then all the aftermaket mods won't work for the new motor.

I believe that of all the hatch in that year they all weight different. The CX is the lightest of all of them. As far as the VTEC motor in the SI, even if the motor come stock with VTEC it won't do much expectially on a SOHC engine. The way to go is a DOHC VTEC engine. those engine respond best to mods. an 99-00 Civic SI can get to 14.9 with just CAI. it can hit low 14's with just I/H/E. I have seen this many time.

Well the japanese civic honda civic si type -r. They only make the type r in JAPAN, but they are thinking about bringing them here. Well we found some headers for his car. Thnx for all the help. But what do you think his car can do on his engine. Or is it just better to do the b16?

how much would a swap like that cost?

Well that depends are you doing just swap or do you have other plans after the swap? if you're staying N/A with just bolt ons like Intake, header and exahaust, B16 would be the best since it's the cheapest... However if you want the most power out of just the motor. Pay some extra cash around $4000+ just for the motor and find a JDM B18C Not C5 but the B18C that's the JDM Integra Type R motor.... my friend was able to pull high 13's with just Intake and cat back on a 99 SI with the B18C. You can get a complete swap for a B16, tranny, ECU, motor mounts for around $1500-$2000 depending where you go... If you can find who know how to do a swap in a Honda which is very easy then you saved youself lots of money. It should only be a 2-3 hour job.
I'm actually looking to do a swap myself down the road for a K20A JDM RSX (Intergra) Type R motor.... 220 HP just the motor... The best deal I found was $5000 on ebay for the motor, 6 speed tranny, ecu. the swap is not as easy and the older Civic. I believe the new RSX-R runs low-mid 14's stock but with the lighter body of my car who knows. ;)

Dont hold your breath on this... Honda has no plans on bringing the new Civic Type R or the RSX-R in the states... I wanted this to happen since it would be a better chance for me to get a K20A motor here than look for one from Japan ;)

Here's the B18C that my friend did in his 99 SI... That car handles and pull up hill so good, the sound of the 9,000K red line is pretty cool too
