Alright so I bring the car in for what I thought was oil in the coolant tank. Sludge and crap floating in the tank. Brown colored crap.
I get a call back after a few hours saying it's not a head gasketleak, it's a manifold leak, and that there's no oil going into the coolant tank, and that the brown sludge is the old Dexcool.
(the coolants been in the car for 73,000 km)
Now has anyone else ever had the dealer explain the sludge in tank as old dexcool???
There's no white residue in my oil although I did think it had an odd shade to it and I swear I smell coolant in it.
so anyone think this guy's trying to BS me into more $$?
I'm already paying for a full coolant flush and tranny flush (cause I need a tranny flush anyway)
Oh to top it all off I bring the car in with only a SVS light on (headlight, just burnt out today) and he adds the SES light came on after I left and that if they diagnose it and it's not warantee related then it'll cost me for reading a damn code... I bought a codereader for a reason... and why the hell can it cost so much just to read a code.
end rant/question.... for now....
Edit: note to self... next time search before rant... check TSB board more often...
