I can't tell from the pic, but tomorrow when I am at work, I will check under the hood of one of the driving school 2.4 GA's and get back to you.

That is unless someone else doesn't answer it first.

not really they are more like boot things and they are under the 2.4L cover, I just had my plugs changed finally today so i got to see first hand. no wires just a plastic piece about 2-3 inches long thats it.

aren't the coils directly attached to the plug??
.....

instead of ours which are coil packs with wires to the plugs?

Yup, distrubutorless ignition. Coils attached to plugs under the IDI cover. Hard to miss if youve ever opened the hood before.

You can fortify all that stuff yourself, no problem. Do a search over on J-body.org.

My 2k2 v6 accord was like that, after 2000 they started using coil on plugs design - 6 coilpacks $30 each from parts sites, made for more power, less EMI interference, no wires, more power to the plugs, sweet concept.

So what do you want to change? The plugs? If its just the plugs, you can do it in 10 minutes.

i think we are gonna change the whole thing, but i think we are gonna change the plugs first to see if thats causing the misfire...

To do the plugs:

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ENGINE HAS SAT FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE DOING THIS, AN ALUMINUM BLOCK CAN GET SCREWED UP PRETTY GOOD BY DOING A PLUG CHANGE WHEN HOT

1. Remove the IDI cover (unplug the harness on the driver's side, then undo the four bolts and it will come right off)
2. If they did not come off with the IDI cover, pull off the spark plug boots, and make sure you dont lose the baby little spring in them (you need em)
3. Remove the spark plugs
4. Insert new plugs, torque to 15 ft lbs.

All done! Youll see the rest of the system under the idi cover, real easy to change that too id assume (ive never done it luckily)
