Does anyone know if there is a TSB on the side mirrors that are fading out on my 2003 GT1? I took it to Pontiac and they heehawed over it for a while and were not sure. They have faded out significantly. I would like to get them painted orange to match the car, but would rather not pay for it, since warranty should cover that. If anyone knows of a TSB, could you please let me know- thanks a million Shawn

My GT mirrors get painted monday when my scratches get fixed, but I have to pay for those. I would like to have the GT mirrors and the Alero mirrors as spares.

For the black plastic ones there is ...

It is an old version. Someone may have a new version that may or may not include the 2003. It generally takes awhile to catch up with the new model year.

I need to get mine done soon. I have about 6K miles of warrantee left.

My 2002 ribbed mirrors are fading considerably. I have a black car and learned that GM cut corners and didn't paint the mirrors on the black models. Now I have a rusty looking ribbed mirror. No quality. :nono:

mine get faded but.. I use this stuff by mother's called "back to black". It makes them look awesome. But, the thing is we shouldnt have to keep putting stuff on them to get them back to original. However, the "back to black" does keep its shine for a while.

I tried the back to black but mine were so far gone that they went back to Dark Gray. I finally just painted them with trim paint as a temporary fix until I decide if I want them gloss black or color match.

I think all models made after Jan 1st 2002 were not painted and some started having Alero mirrors.

I've had the same problem with my mirrors. I went out and got Turtle Wax's Bug and Tar Remover. It works great. It brings back the gloss of the mirror as well as leave a protective coating. Plus I used it to clean off the bird crap and tree sap from when I went camping. Try it out.
