Anyone got any idea why my car won't start unless I spray carb/choke cleaner in and around the tb. But even then it only runs for a sec. I tried to give it gas while it was running for that sec but that didnt work either.

Well he says it starts if he sprays around the TB... So, I'm going to maybe guess clogged fuel injectors.

i dont think it would be the injector..cause even if he sprayed that in the TB, it would have to get through the injectors....so he got some spark from the plugs due to the high combustion of the starter fluid..and it died..if he had plugged injectors..he wouldnt have any thing reaching the plugs at all..but who knows could be..but id start at the spark point and work ur way back:)

Personally I would start at the fuel fump. Try turing the key to on without trying to start it. For about 5 seconds, you should here something happening near the gas tank. If you hear the fuel pump then it's not that. your next thing to try would be the fuel injectors. Even thought you sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body, that doesn't rule out injectors.
The injectors are connected directly to the fuel rail. The throttle body is connected to the air intake. So the starter fluid mixes with the air in the air intake and you have combustion. It doesn't go through the injectors. Go and buy a NOID light at your local auto parts store and you can plug it into the injector connector. It should flash when you try to start the car.
I work at auto zone and I think we carry them.

well, i can hear the pump. so i took it to monro. They replaced my fuel filter which was the original one which had 75k miles on it. I think that's what it was cause it starts up good now.
I had my dad start my car while i sprayed that carb/choke stuff in the t/b. He started giving it gas and it stayed on long enough for me to get it there.

Yeah, you're supposed to change your fuel filter every 2 years or 30k miles.

Fuel Injectors being clogged are a myth... That doesn't happen on our cars considering our valves are at a 30 degree
