so the past month i have been debating on what this stuff was on my postive bolt going to the battery. it looked like a mint color all dried up, coated onto my system wire on the positive bolt. some people said it was dried up battery acid and some people said it was just weather corrosion. well my system wire just fell off and i didnt know what to do.

so me and silentalero, decided to change out the wire, find the end of the corrosion and crimp a new piece of 8 gauge wire onto the positive bolt. so the bolt is pretty much stripped and we didnt know what to do. he used these plires to try and get the bolt off, and when he was twisting, and turning, then next thing u know he almost flew to the ground from doing it too much. we look at the bolt and he cracked it, half into the battery and half into the existing harness. so i needed a new battery cause sure enough acid was flowing out. NOT GOOD!

so we push my car out of the driveway to get to his so we can run to autozone and buy a new battery. they were just closing and we told them my situation and they wouldnt let us in cause the registers were closed. so we flew to pepboys cause it was 15 minutes before they were closing. bought a cheap ass energizer battey and went on our way. thank god they were open cause i wouldnt be able to drive my car the next day to work and i wouldve been screwed.

to make a long story short, i changed out my battery, and who knows, if i didnt pay any attention to it, the situation couldve been alot worse by having the acid touch any wires, and creating a mess.

I had a similar situation with my friends Cavalier about 2 years ago. We just came out of my aunt's house to go home after a party, and the battery was dead. My uncle had a battery charger, but we couldn't get it in front of the car so we had to take out the battery. Went to remove the positive bolt, and the ENTIRE BATTERY terminal pulled out. Luckilly Sears Auto was still open so we just drove over and picked up a new one. Still weird though.
