There is metal rattle sound coming from INSIDE the cat converter. I don't know what kinda stuff is inside it. Any ideas?

The ceramic honeycomb has melted and/or broken apart and is rattling inside. The only way to fix it is to replace it. I'd recommend fixing it ASAP too. Sometimes the piece can shift and end up blocking the cat off totally and then exhaust gaskets, flanges, etc. will start to leak and or blow out.

any dents or points of impact on the converter itself?? Something could have hit it and broken it loose

If you hit it with a hammer, and it rattles around, its shot and it needs to be replaced. But dont fret. Your under warranty.

Actually, under the emissions warranty, it's only covered if it fails a test or if it's not performant enough to pass a test. It could sound like a baby toy if it still passes emissions testing GM doesn't have to change it.
On the general new car warranty though it's a defective part that is covered.
