I accidently discharged it while installing my headers, and i finally got around to getting a recharge kit. Yet the directions are absolutely terrible and i just cant figure out anything. So has Anyone ever recharged the A/C in our cars using a kit? Thanks

I tried, but GM screwed us once again and they have a propietary pressure port fitting! The kits you buy won't work! I'm sure someone sells an adapter, but I just gave up ...

Look for the kit with the hose... I found an entire manifold setup for like $35 on ebay, it has the red blue and yellow hoses so you can check your pressure while refilling, trick was that the pros use a large tank to fill systems so I took the can tapper off he DIY refill kit from pepboys and it screws onto the yellow hose... Since your system is empty you can go by the sticker on the panel under the hood, but a good idea ould be to evacuate the system down to like -7PSI or you will have air in the system and that will kill your compressor.
edit - BTW the low side is a standard fitting you were trying to use the high side, YOU'RE LUCKY IT DIDN'T FIT CAUSE THAT SIDE IS UPWARDS OF 150 PSI AKA ENOUGH TO EXPLODE THE CAN!

no not really just go to your parts store and buy a hoe and and fitting for the bottles....shoudl come together(7$) and a can of freon ($6) you might try wal-mart or something i bet there having sales on it now. Just put the can to the hose and have someone hold it open while your car is running with the A/C on full blast.
