Well, I'm going to take the 02 GAGT to a detailing place tomorrow... have some scratches buffed out... While I'm there, I was thinking about getting the engine bay cleaned (if they provide this service). I have 18k miles on it, and it's starting to get a little dirty inside there... My question is, what are the downfalls of doing this (if there are any)? What is the best way to clean it? (steam?) Also, Is there any special precautions or anything I should take before I let them do this? I would assume they know what they're doing, but thought I'd ask around first!

I clean my own for $3.99 and about 15 minutes of time. Go to Autozone and buy a bottle of Greased Lightning Orange Blast. Spray the entire bottle over everything in the engine compartment except your coils. Make sure the engine is semi-cool first though. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Start the car and then use the hose without an attachment to rinse the Orange Blast off. Let the car run for 10 minutes or take a spin around the block to let the engine dry off and you are done!
