...how do u know they aren't APC... that link u gave (which goes to the same site in the first link in the first post) could just be one of the approved vendors to sell APC products... also... why are there two listing for GA lights, and a $10 difference in price??

because one says

and second says

i figure since it says APC in the second one and different price they aren't APC

...i don't think it matters if it says APC or not... i know that many companies don't list the actual manufacturer... procarparts puts stuff in their own boxes with their name on it and they didn't make the product...

Nice find!!!! They look pretty good, but not to sure about that chrome piece over the large red lense.... Toss some light tint on the lense like the stock has they are are going to look great on the GA.. :)

...unfortunately most vehicles use plastic to simulate chrome... my stock TrailBlazer has a plastic chrome front bar in the grill... i don't think it's R I C E...

Its ok when done in taste...like on a Trail Blazer.....Those things are COVERED in plastic chrome...To me they stick out and look too flashy...that's what I meant by r*ce....I think they're ugly.....Just my opinion. Thanks for the dis kool...really hurt.

For $200 I'd but a new TB or some nice mandrel bent pipes. So many better ways to spend the loot.....If one of my friends spent $200 on tail lights when his car was slower than 15 flat.....I would call him a r i c e r.

i guess i see where you're coming from pace... i just wanted to point out that more and more cars are using that... even Jaguar's S-Type's urinal shaped grill is plastic chrome...

edit...also check that site's home page...you'll see they are an authorized dealer for APC... looks like APC finally did produce the lights that have been delayed for years...

WTF... ECAP~ Just because someone is all show over go makes them a ricer... It makes no sense...?? I'm sorry but I'm not about to drop all the money in my car to run faster than what I do... But I guess I am R I C E because I like to modify the looks of my car... Thats right guys if you dont wanna be fast your R I C E... Since when are grand am's "fast" cars...

BTW~ I like the lights... I wouldn't buy them tho until I saw them on a black GA

When they started breaking into the 13's !!!!!

Making minor cosmetic changes to personalize you vehicle is one thing.....spending over $200 on plastic fake chrome tail lights that stick out like a green hat with an orange bill is another.....and runs dangerously close to r i c e r territory!

No offense to break into 13's didn't have a supercharger AND nitrious... I mean maybe if it was a 13.5... but not a 13.86 almost a 13.9... Grand Am's aren't the faster cars... But I don't think spending $200 on comestics is R I C E ... I mean granted you have your opinion... but rims... I guess that is R I C E, right? $1000+ to make your car go slower.... hmmm ricer?!?!

i think the tails are alright... at least something new for the grand am. I mean at least they're trying. 200 is a high price but i would not call it ricy. I would also like to see them in person on a car before purchasing them.

I think the whole Eruo/Clear tail light deal is played out all together. I liked them when they first came out, but now that just about half the cars driving around have them, they got played out. (yes i know not half the cars have them...that was an exageration.) Anyway, i know when i see a decked out car with nice rims, body kit, exhaust, and all that, and they didn't go with the clear tails, i appreciate that a lot more. Nowadays, your different if you DON'T have clear tails, and originality is always good. Just my .02 cents.

P.S. ECAP, i gotta good laugh outta the eminem quote about the green hat with an orange bill. That fit in nicely.:cheers:

Ok guys here's the deal. I emailed them last nite when I first posted this. I WILL be getting these when they come out. My plans however are to break that muhfugga open and body match the dumb chrome unless for some reason the chrome grows on me before then. Luckily enough it'll be a birthday present from my sister so I don't have to shell out 2 bills for these things. Here's the email correspondence:

It has come to my attention that your website apparently has clear tails for the Pontiac Grand Am listed. I was wondering if I were to order the tail lights when is the soonest they would ship out. Hopefully soon! Also are the bulbs normal halogens or are they LED? Last question is- can the outer clear plastic lenses be removed and then put back on in case of condensation or the like? Thanks in advance!

manufacturers in August (middle to late), they use factory style bulbs and

Man, I don't know why some you guys are so negative. Aren't we all (ricers too) just trying to do the same thing by personalizing our rides to suit our OWN tastes and not someone elses. I mean so what if amraam4 doesn't care for how they look, I want something different for my car, and yes, I do like how these tails look and when they are availabe I most likely will get them, because here in Montana, not every other car has those. Especially other GA's around here.

I guess what I am getting at is certain people around here need to start respecting other peoples tastes and styles, we are all here for the same reason, info and frienship with other GA owners.

On a final note I really don't care how the *** led tails look but I am not going to flame anyone for likeing them or haveing them on their car. Its all about what you think will make your ride stand out in your mind.

Sorry to preach, but theres my .02

i can almost garuntee they will look like arse on a black ga. silver and white can pretty much pull it off IMO. did u see the new style of apc tailights they came out with. my buddy has an 02 cavy and he had the chrome nasty looking ones. now he bought the new ones with the backround all in black and looks 100x's better. until thiey do this to the ga ones, im not touching those.

this is what everyone has been wanting since they first were seen on the streets. look at how many threads there have been about clear tails. now that they are out, no one wants em? i'm not saying that i'm going to buy them, i'm just saying don't discourage anyone else from getting them

I've wanted clear tails for my car for awhile now, but I can't see shelling out 5 bills for the *** ones. At least this give all of us another option. If you don't like them, don't get them. If you do like them, try them out. You never know, they may look even better than previously thought once they are on the car and seen in person.

The same thing has happened for every new aftermarket show part that has come out so far. Everyone complains that there isn't enough stuff, then as soon as it comes out, everyone bashes it and doesn't make anyone else want to buy it anymore. A great example is what happened with the Andy's Autosport Kit.

Yeah and they're GAY! I bought an 03 and pulled those plastic pieces of crap off before my odo had 1000 miles on it! I can't believe Pontiac stooped so low as to put plastic covered wheels on our cars and call them chrome...what a joke. I'll say this. At least we have another offering for tail lights other than the A... what's that other company again? So maybe more will come (I hope).

About the lights, I think the Red brake light circle is too big. Looks wierd. But I would prefer it in Carbon Fiber or blacked out.

What the **** is this? first, everyone wants new aftermarket parts and then they don't like them after they make'em. Everyone wants to be fast so that should be considered as so called ricer or whatever, that's why there are threads of s/c, nos, tog headers, and all this stuff to gain more power, so what this supossed to be???? buy performance parts just to show off, waste of money it is if so. You buy parts to use them, especially performance, to go FAST of course, which is now domestic ricer. What about the cf hood for $1000 everone wants it, it's light, it's nice looking but makes our cars look like they are fast. Well my point is, everyone fixes their cars however they want to, but if you don't like new parts don't post anything negative, you don't like it? Don't worry about it, don't say nothing just fix your car however you want to and that's it.
