View Full Version : Air-Ride just not freaking working

Well, after spending a lot of the week working on getting my air-ride hooked up, it still isn't working (it's blowing air, but not lifting anything, most likely because i believe i have the switches wired up to the wrong valves at this moment). But, as it sits right now, I have 0 psi in the system, and it doesn't lay out at all. Struts and air just don't go well together. My plan at this point is to take it to a shop today. When I'm there I'm going to discuss with the guy whether I ought to have him cut on stuff to get the air to work or just go get a hydraulics kit from CCE.

Before I hear all the 'juice is ghetto' comments, hear this. With the juice, it'll sit low. Good and low. I don't know if you guys saw Robbie (Layd2Rest on StreetSourceMag.com or, I believe, Aftermath on here), but even before he started cuttin' on his to do a unibody drop, just with the hydraulics, it layed GOOOD. That's what I want. And a well-done hydraulics system won't leak, won't blow lines, and will look better with chrome pumps and Optima batteries than any air-ride system could ever look.

Just thought I'd toss that out there to hear opinions, update people, etc. It sucks, because it's not going to be done before Bristol (we leave today), but it'll be either cut and laying on air or laying with some juice by Southern Showdown on the 26th and 27th of this month.

excuse my stupidity, but what does "juice" mean in an air-ride context?

yea, well if ya gotta go juice, then do it....yea hydro's will make ya sit lower, but that is the bad side, is you, lose pretty much your entire trunk to it.

and with ur bags, if u have 0psi, are you sure u have everything connected right? Who's ur kit made by?

excellent, thank you. So far juice means hydraulics, nitrous, and a cold beverage.

lol, sorry. i just throw random slang lingo in there cuz i'm so used to talking to all my friends who use the exact same slang lingo. the only keeping me from stopping at CoolCars for a CCE set-up before I go to the shop is that I've got all this money in the air setup right now that I wouldn't get much of back if I tried to get rid of it. The hydraulics would work better and make me happier (I don't need a trunk; I have a back seat) :)

Dunno. But yeah, it'll be done by ITB time with whatever set-up it ends up with.

Sorry to hear that bro... I hope everything works out fine for you... I would stick with the air ride... But juices is pimp 2 espically if you could lay it up on 3 wheels...

PS~ My dad is being an ass about the springs... Remember... I want... Hopefully I can get the money out to you ASAP
