I have been a member and have contributed to this site for a few years now. I read topics on a daily basis and rarely reply anymore. I used to be big in this forum but have tapered away to other priorities in life. But I just wanted to thank everyone else here who has went out on a limb to document things they have done.

This week I changed my front brakes, spark plugs, wires, serpentine belt, and fuel filter. Although I know the basics of these procedures the details were left out. I had no problem finding the answers here.

It is valuable to read topics before you attempt to work on your car. For example I wanted to change the spark plugs but since I read the wires are hard to get off I bought a new set and low and behold destroyed two of them when wrestling them off.

Another example is I was changing my fuel filter and could not find the valve to releive pressure in the system. With the search button I found this.

Thanks again for such documented struggles to prevent others from going through what you guys had too.

$200 in parts from PFYC.com and about 3 hours of my time saved me hundreds of dollars in labor costs.

lol i havent change my thermostat cuz i couldnt get the damn copper pipe to loosen up......if i tried to force it or put a lil rough pressure......the pipe wold bend right away........after several attempts, i decided not to install it and leave my stock one on......

anyone w/ ideas how to loosen that pipe (the nut) and not bend the copper piping or twisted more then needed?

but anyways......we are all wiser just a lil bit to say the least from this site..... i just hope it doesnt shut down in my lifetime lol ....... like the old website :(

I have learned more here than I did from every single mag I have ever read ... prolly cause I used to read r i c e mags :p But yeah. I have learned much here, and will learn more. Now I jsut need to learn electronics, that stuff sucks. Also I want to learn how to disassemble the 3400, for fun, but Im guessing the only way to do that is to do it! Not on the 03 thats for sure!
