Must be a SE thing. I don't have one on my GT. If it is like any other trim piece on our car, just gently pry on it with a flat head screw driver and it shoud pop off.

I *tried* to remove mine and ended up breaking it! DO NOT JUST PULL IT OUT!!! You need to drop the headliner to remove some clips. If you do not, the front two posts will snap off.

Just goes to show what I know. I checked my GM techline software and you are one hundred percent correct. You have to remove the headliner, unless you don't care if you break it.

Do you have a sunroof? I tried looking at your cardomain pics, but the lighting was screwy plus black doesn't help :) Anyway, I remember when my dad had a 00 gt, It had one of those things, and even before that, a 97 gt had it. My 2K3 GT has a sunroof, so, by vitrue of logic, there is no cubby deal. This is a curious question...I'd like to get the answer.

I have it since I don't have a sunroof. My garage opener is clipped to it. My sub will rattle anything I put in there.

I have a sunroof. So this cubby must be where they put the sunroof switch. My uncle's SE has a sunroof and no headliner cubby.

Yep yep, no sunroof and i have the cubby thing. Anything in, on, or around that rattles like a mofo when the subs are cranked. I've never really understood the need for it, but I guess GM thought it would be an efficient space-filler. Ah well...what's one more useless cubby spot?

Its on non sunroof GT's only...If you pop out you sunvisor and sunvisor supports, you should be able to pull your headliner down and you'll see its clipped into it.

That sounds extremely interresting. Be sure to take pics and keep us all updated on your progress.

Nothing like waking this thread from the dead lol. ANyway, for those that did remove the cubby, can I just drop the front part of the headliner and remove the cubby or do I have to take the entire headliner down? Nobody really mentioned how to on this.

Thanks

I'd think you could just drop the front down... I'd be careful of bending the headliner, tho... IIRC, the headliner is just like cardboard, so if you bend it too far, you'll have a permanent crease.

What about these clips or whatever that hold the cubby on?
