so to finally clarify.... can you pull the #22 relay on a '03 GAGT and disable the daytime running lights without any negative effects?

NO you cannot pull the relay. If you do it sets off a SVS light and one headlight will be brighter.

Not all the time. I pulled relay #22 on my '03 GT neither of those things has happened. You just have to try and see for yourself.

I pulled my relay and I lost my right hi-beam, but low-beam is fine.

Hmm a very interesting topic. I would think pulling the relay would effect the headlights in one form or another.

I pulled relay # 22 a while ago.....no adverse effects.

It depends on the year and the BCM module in your car.

i thought the 03's came with disabling them. i see alot of non modded ga's driving by my house that drive with the ambers and fogs.

There is no disable option on the car, but like everyone seems to be doing....pulling the relay #22 seems to do the job. Ill try it on my 03' and see if it works.

J_espo,

You need to relax.

In addition there are multiple 03 owners in this thread alone that have said yanking the relay works, as well as in at least 1 other large thread.

your name is iceman so you must be cool. me on the other hand, im impatient- if it wasn't pouring right now outside i'd go pull the relay myself and see what happens. thanks for your input.

ok .. i got an 03 SCT and i just pulled the #22 relay with no SVS or anything... lights still work fine(highs are equal power and same as before) ... but the DRLs didnt go off cause when i pulled out of the garage it thinks its night time and turns my headlights on... is there anyway to impersonate day time to see if this works???... i am impatient and cant wait till tomorrow

well i have been doing the tape mod for the last 3 months, but i want to get rid of ALL light that comes through the headlamps... i dont want to ride around with the amber parking lamps on... i was hoping by pulling the DRL relay, i would get rid of the DRLs and by leaving the stick in Auto, i would have NO LIGHT at all coming through my headlamps during the day... if this is not the case, i have misunderstood and i will go back to the cover up the light method.....

Some of you are going way too in-depth with this. Pulling relay #22 only does one thing: Kills the DRLs. It doesnt give you any other control over your lights. When pulled, during the day there will be no lights on. No parking lights, no headlights, no fog lights, nothing.

Also, I never understood the "putting tape over the ALS" thing either. Then you have to either have your headlights and/or parking lights on at all times, even in the middle of the day. No thanks.
