New Mirrors

I replaced my crappy 03' alero mirrors on my 03' Gt last night with GT twin post mirrors. These are even more shiny then the stock ones. They are black right now until i can eventually afford a simple paint job on them. I am so relieved!! I hate the 03' mirrors on the GT!

I painted my Alero side mirrors silver, same color as my car and now I love them. For 100$ that it costed me to get them painted by a pro, I love them. I used to hate them when they were black. Oh Well, that's my .02

They are really a great item from gmpartsdirect.com. I paid $96 including shipping for the 99-01 electric Se mirrors which are bascially the twin post GT mirrors not painted(just glossy black plastic) Just put in these two part #'s:

Right- #22613596
Left- #22613597

Procedures for replacing these are on this link. Just select Audio, then 2 door. Its really not that hard. It took me at the most 30 minutes to do this.

AVS...how long did it take to get them

When i ordered those it took about a week. Maybe a little less than that cause i was a little surprised when i came home a couple of days ago and the box was sitting in the living room. As far as going to a junk yard you may not always be garanteed a pair of mirrors. Most of the time they give up mirrors is when the door is pretty beat up and having two doors at that is hard to come by. I was told that they wont just take the mirror off and leave a clean door. Whether or not your looking for electric or manual, the parts you will need should be part of the take from a junkyard. Good luck with that.
