ok i have dad this blue windshield banner on my car for over a yr now and ever since i got my fender stripes, i was think their was too much blue in the front of my car. so i was thinking of getting black, cause my car is black, but do u think it will fade over time, or only if the viny is bad it will. i might get tint stripe across my windshield but i dont know which way i want to go yet. so will black vinyl fade or no? thank you

Anything will fade over time, the UV light ruins everything. The question is, how long will it last without fading? Ryan Currie can probably answer that.

Depends on the quality of vinyl & the amount of uv it's subjected to daily. Most vinyl is done for sometime w/in 5 to 7 years, I mean, ya, it'lll still be there, but it'll get thin, brittle & faded. I havn't seen any looking good after 7 years & we use the high quality stuff where I work. I'm sure Ryan will be able to tell you the life expectancy of the vinyl he sells, but it also varies by manufacturer.

It will fade... Besides tint would look better... Just get it dark like I did... 5% 5 inches below AS1 line... I used to have the whole winshiled tint (couldnt see) then custom tint (got ticketed)

well i dont know if i wanna go with the inside look (tint) or the outside look (vinyl). im not going to have this car for 7 yrs so i guess i dont have to worry about it fading then. my blue one has never faded and its been on there a yr and a half. the prices between the two are pretty much the same for me. i guess i will have to decide for myself.

my personal opinion is the tint strip looks cleaner and more stockish.. vinyl tends to look cheesey sometimes because you can never get it the same colour as the car (ie shine, metallic etc...)

Also... You can't see thru the viynl... But you can see thru the tint

personally i put my black vinyl on the inside of the window and its just as shiny as the rest of the car you cant tell its their it looks stock... plus i like it not being transparent dont have to wear sunglasses anymore... but if you put black or any other color vinyl on the outside of the vehicle like they said before, 7 years is about the limit, but you can use a uv protectant wax on it to make it last alot longer and not fade as fast, since most vinyls dont make it 7 years any ways.

thats got to be hard as hell to install on the inside, especially with the rear view mirror.

its no harder to install than regular tint all you need is alot of soapy water an exacto knife and some patients.

something i dont have when it comes to the inside of a windshield. its a PITA washing the glass with windex, let alone cutting and trying to fit tint or vinyl on there.lol
