Anyone have any experience with the Auto Trans Interceptor from PFYC? Is it worth the $130?
Thanks!

People say that it firms up transmission line pressure and makes shifts quicker, depending on what setting you put it on. I think a lot of people on this forum would recommend you just go ahead and spend $300 instead of $130 and get a DHP PCM.
Just as an aside, this topic has been covered many times; use the search button in the upper right and you'll find a wealth of information on just about anything.

i would not buy it. it messed up my tranny. thank god i was under warranty. i know alot other people who have sold theirs cause of the same tranny problems. if ur under warranty, i would say maybe get it and use it once in a while. if ur not under warranty, dont buy it unless u have at least a 1000 bucks to fix ur tranny.
but its all up to you.

What kind of things did it mess up w/ your tranny??? Won't the DHP PCM cause the same problems?

Do you know what it is that failed? Was the TCC solenoid by chance?

DHP doesn't screw with your tranny as much as the ATI does. People have said that the car even shifts really hard out of park with the ATI in...in Iceman's thread about his DHP, I think he said he didn't even really notice the increase in tranny line pressure. I'm pretty sure all the DHP does is move the shift points from 5800 to 6000 RPMs. Also, if the DHP caused tranny problems, it wouldn't nearly be as popular a mod as it is.

The only thing I didn't like about the ATI was when it slammed you into gear coming from park or reverse, and low speed shifts. The DHP really only does the quick shifts when you are on the throttle, which is where it should be... It's not an all-time thing like the ATI. Altho I did like the ATI and how you could bump up the pressure, and man did that thing shift quick as all hell...
There's a great thread on the ATI where all these points and more have already been discussed.. go check it out.

yes, it was some kind of solenoid problem. how did you know by chance? just curious. liek iceman, i also didnt like how when u shift into reverse or drive, it jerks ur whole car. i found out from the dealer my car was slipping, misfiring, and shuttering all at once. not good, and wouldnt advise if you are out of warranty.
