I got my TOG's Headers installed about 3 weeks ago, and the guys that installed it said it was a pain to install and took them about 9 hours. Anyway, 2 days ago i noticed a sort of fluttering noise along with my exhaust noise. Kinda like an old beat up car's exhaust sounds. In slowly got worse, and then this morning when i got in the car, and started it up it sounded like a beast. No more fluttering, but it is a lot louder. Something is obviously wrong. Especially since when i popped the hood there was a little bit of exhaust coming up out of the engine bay. But the smoke only came up while the car was running. Any help on this? Thanks.

I wonder if he put the gaskets on corretly. It's the first and only thing I can think of.

take a good sniff under the hood after it runs. If it's gaskets it should be a pretty noticeable exhaust smell. Definately the most obvious answer.

ok, this may sound stupid, but how bad is it for the car if i still drive around with it like that? Cuz i won't be able to get it into a shop till monday.

yea definetly either gaskets are in wrong or somethin wasnt tightened enough.

yea, my car does the SAME EXACT THING, like same exact, im pretty sure its an exhaust leak from the gaskets. Mine is really bad and I need to get it fixed.

Mine had the same problem. Turned out to be a broken weld on the downpipe. Easy fix.
I also had a vibration/resonance for a while. It went away after about 2 weeks.

I don't think any serious damage. You might get a little carbon buildup around the flange, but even that probably wouldn't be serious in 4 days.

They probably didn't get the crossover pipe lined up right and/or the gaskets tight enough. After installing them on Alex's car I started using copper gasket sealer on the donut gaskets on mine and Chris's cars with good success. No weird noises coming from either. I need to have Alex come up and re-do his crossover to see if we can fix it. I did retighten the front joint and it got somewhat better.

If it took them about 9 hours that sounds about right though. Took about 10-11 in my garage, not counting the other stuff we did.
