one loud arse exhaust. I just had my Catco highflow cat put in tonight...damn is the car loud. It still has the deep SLP rumble at low rpms, but gets insanely loud and raspy at WOT. Borderline riicey. Haven't decided if I like it or not...but it's here to stay. I now have 2.5" everything...headers, flex, cat, & catback...I had them cut the flange off of the SLP, cause it reduced it down to 2.25".

Sorry if its a stupid question, but whats the flange.. I just ordered an SLP, would I wanna have the flange cut off too?
Ok, to explain the flange. Pop you head under your car, look at where your exhuast connects to the catalytic converter. There is a peice of metal with bolts, that is your flange. As fas as cutting yours off, I dont think it will make much a difference on a stock car. Hes running a supercharger and headers so It makes more sense with the insane amounts of flow he needs.

The ONLY reason he had to cut the flange off is because, the Headers don't play well with a Randon Tech down pipe with a high flow cat, and an SLP exhaust.
If you have or get headers, then you will also have to do some exhaust modification.

Yep, the SLP has a smaller flange designed to hook up to the stock downpipe which is 2.25" in diameter. The rest of the SLP exhaust is 2.5". If you put on 2.5" headers and cat then you'd want to change the flange on the SLP to 2.5". I still have to do this to my system yet. I was running out of $$$ when I had it done (which is why I skipped the cat;) ).

I don't have a Random Tech down pipe. The reason I had the flange cut is it was the only section of my exhaust that wasn't 2.5". I didn't have them replace it with a larger one either. Just had the pipes welded together. If I need to remove that section, I just unbolt it from the headers and undo the clamp before the rear suspension.

Hey, I'll have the exact same setup in 10 days. It's all sitting in my bed room, minus the SLP muffler. When I got my SLP kit in, I sold the muffler/tips to get the Magnaflow transverse muffler, with some tips a lot like the SLP tips. I also got the S&S Flex pipe, with a test pipe 2.5", o2 sim, and new flange put on the SLP. I'll tell ya how it sounds on install day in 10 days.

It wasn't this past weekend, it was supposed to be this coming weekend...but, I have to go to a going away party for my boss. So, gotta look at the schedule and see when I can get to a track. I'm also still waiting for a PCM and a 2.2" pulley. I'll make it soon. :D

I had the rt high flow cat and down pipe (2.75) then i ordered the TOG headers and my mechanic had to cut off about 18inches off of the rt down pipe cause the TOGs come with their own flex/downpipe. Are the ss the same way?

The S&S headers are alot longer than TOG. If you were to install them and hold the factory downpipe up to where it would go, the headers come all the way down to the bend in the downpipe.
