RAI problems

alright so i have a ram air intake. i didnt' want to drill and do all that other stuff to get the pipin into the fender. so i just have it sittin where they old air box was. problem is i now get a lot of fumes in the car when im in traffic. i had a guy check it out and she said some crap like this is for a japinese car and that is what the problem is. i was like no **** they dont' make anything for me. so i have to mod. anyone have a problem solver for this or just go and put it in the fender?


i did like others do and get teh civic air intake and did it that way.

Maybe this mod is not for you , if the smell bothers you. Send the intake down into the fenderwell, or put your stock set-up back on and go with a K&N.

On a wild guess i would say maybe with the heater on or a/c he smells something from the engine compartment, that may or may not have something to do with his warm air intake.

are you trying to use the ram + intake? or are you just trying to get a CAI?

if you just want a CIA.. i can tell you how i put one in my 95

He means WAI not Ram Air. And with the civic intake, it should go into the fender anyway?

It's probably the oil on the filter element. The WAI is not going to give you a heck of a lot anyway... If the smell doesn't go away, I'd just go back to stock. OTW the true CAI is ideal. No smell max performance... read the CAI FAQ at the top of the Modification Talk : ALL GO Forum.

please. that would help a lot. the smell doesn't bother me just others that ride in the car. and yes the smell is only on when i have the A/C goin im not sure about the heater because it is too damn hot to try and find out.
