I know of a company that can make you a custom intake manifold to work with the M90...it will cost you $2500, but then you can run the bigger SC...I've thought about it myself a few times. I'd imagine that you can pick up an M90 off of a GTP for pretty cheap.

Hmmm...could be worth looking into. I'm sure you can find an M90 at a slavage yard in great shape for <$1000. =$3500 for an M90? Would it need any modification to the nose drive to fit in line with the existing belt?
I guess it would really depend on where it was mounted !!!

Why try to cram a larger SC when you can just get a turbo. The one I'm getting will be good to about about 500 HP. If I really wanted a different trim or larger turbo, it would run about $400.
So why go through the trouble of getting a M90 and custom UIM?????

M90 and custom UIM, or custom turbo? They will both be a pain in the arse. If you get 500hp out of your car, I'll give you a dollar. You don't even know if your car will run yet and you are making silly claims like 500hp. Come on man. I know you are excited and all, but lets just wait until it's finished before we start throwing out numbers. Trust me, even after this shop is finished, you are gonna have alot of work ahead of you. Fine tuning and working out all the bugs is gonna take a long time.

I don't think he assumed his car will put out 500hp. I think he was just saying the turbo he is using is capable of up to 500hp.

to each their own
one thing many are forgetting
if the 90 is put up top you will need to get new fuel rails and also find another place to mount the power steering
the side mount is the best bet.
problem ther is hood clearance
the M90 is a tad wider than the 62 and may not clear the hood with the 2 piece drive
I planned on using some of the current magna kit with the M90 and building my own inlets and outlets.
this would be cheaper that a top mount and would allow for an intercooler to be used as well.
but hood clearance is an issue .
The M90 is still not out of the question for me though.

Hood clearance issue...small cowl? I've seen it on a GA, and it doesn't look half bad. I wouldn't put one on my car without the power to back up the looks, though...enter: M90
John - Correct me if I'm wrong, but fuel rails aren't too hard to fab are they? Moving the power steering...that sounds like a challenge.

eh they are not to bad to get fabbed.
many places sell universal fuel rails that would just need to be drilled and fitted with lines and such
oh also I forgot about a new injector wiring harness to go arround the blower.
Custom stuff adds up fast and using a side mount liekt he current magna would be easier.
oh as for a cowl...
The SC sits pretty far forward and also to the left
so the cowl would have to be very wide.
you could mount the SC about a half inch lower than the current 62 and still have header clearance
funny thing is the M90 is a tad shorter than the 62 so there would be more room off the end for a better less restrictive inlet.

Like Bzopi said, that is the max capability of the turbo. I'll take your dollar if I EVER get it that high.
As for the tuning, I wouldn't worry about that. If we get the guy with the OBDII reflashing capability, this kit will be ready by the end of the week. All they would need to do is get orders and deposits.
If you haven't been following I'm trying to help the GA community take the "custom" out of turbos.

Hey Knappy1, I see that you have a mini-AFC on your mod list. How is working for you, and which one is it?

Actually, I need to update that page again. The mini-AFC took a schit, caused the PCM to not be able to read the MAF, which in turn caused the CAT to plug, which made the car run like a big piece of duty. Long story short, the mini-AFC is a pile of junk. Don't waste your money. Just get a PCM tuned for the injectors.

I got owned by a turbo Talon tonight. Boost might become a little higher priority for next year than I thought.

It will be VERY temporary. Basically long enough to get a reprogram done. So they are POS's, I was afraid of that. Well, thanks for the feedback.

I had one myself... I tried to actually enrich the mixture with it... The car would not start at all. I would say it should be able to perform adequately for leaning the car out... only because the clubgp guys have used it so effectively. ZZP seems to want a good image out there as well... Rob did you try and get in touch with them?
