Well, I went home for my lunch break and was going to remove the bolts from my cat just to get ready for the install after work. I got underneath the car, and there were no bolts at all. It looks like somebody had welded the cat on to both sections of pipe.

Do you guys have any recommendations for what I should do? I'm thinking either weld the SLP system on or buy a new cat and have it welded on so I can bolt the SLP to it.

If your car was completely stock at purchase, I find it hard to believe that this was so.... maybe you were looking at the second resonator and not the actual cat itself????

not saying your lying, its quite possible, but make sure you know the difference between the two

I was thinking that, too, but I'm pretty sure it's the cat that I'm looking at. The car had one owner before me and he did some strange things, so this isn't all that surprising.

I'll try to describe it the best I can. The downpipe comes down and runs into what I think is the cat. Right after the cat-like-device, the O2 sensor is screwed in. After that, there is just a long pipe running over the axle and into the muffler.

this is what is should look like after the cat, once everything is out, if not, then yeah, your exhaust has definitely been modified

Yep. . .I don't have flanges anywhere. If I wanted to unbolt the stock pipes, I'd have to unbolt them at the manifold :( I guess custom weld job here I come. Unless anybody has a stock downpipe and cat they want to sell! ;)

One flange to the manifold and one to the cat.

One flange to the manifold, yes, one to the cat :nono:
It's all welded. Solid welds everywhere except at the manifold.

cut it and weld a flange where its suppose to be after the cat. You can get the flange for like 6 bucks.
