www.ssheaders.com

Expect to shell out more than $700 bones for them. They're $350 brand new raw, which means you'll pay for shipping, ~$40. Then you have to paint them or get them coated, another $70-200. Don't forget down pipe, (depending on setup, $70-$350+shipping). You'll prolly want a high-flow cat to keep sound quality and the law on your side, so $60-120. And an o2 simulator, $55. Don't forget about install....even if you install yourself, you still need some stuff welded up.

Believe me, it adds up quicker than you think. :-(

I dunno if you have exhaust already, but you'll definately need that to get gains.

?! the S&S headers are MORE money..not less? Am I wrong? THESE HEADERS (https://ssl5.mysecureserver.com/bosstoolscom/store/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=547) are the S&S headers...and they're more than TOG's $730 price. Someone enlighten me.

I'll sell you a hi-flow Car Sound cat (brand new in box) and 6" flex-pipe (also brand new) for cheap if you want them. That way you can have an exhaust shop just do the entire exhaust from the headers back and you won't have to worry about buying the extra piece from S&S. Coated headers from S&S are $500, and as stated the raw ones are $350. You can send them off to another coating company, but it'll cost you ~$140 for the coating, plus the additional shipping.

The pic you posted is a direct bolt in replacement which includes the cat. You can do the entire install yourself without ever having to go to an exhaust shop. With the TOGs, you won't get a new cat and you'll need to weld them up to the existing exhaust after cutting it off. It all really depends on what you want and if you want to pay the additional $$ for installation.

To get the flex pipe (without cat) you have to actually call S&S Headers, and it's $75+shipping. They don't sell it on the site, but it actually has the 45 degree bend needed to bolt up to the headers.

o2 Sims can be found many places, all about the same price. I just bought one from pfyc.com, they had em in stock and are shipping, so I'd go through them again.

High flow cat's can be found anywhere, but cheapest I've found is eBay. Do a search for Carsound Converter and you'll get some good prices. Make sure to get 2.5", no air, no o2 bung (saves you money, and exhaust shops can weld up an o2 bung for $5 if you really want that).

Best bet on coating for headers is nickel or ceramic. It'll keep from rusting, help insulate, help flow. Ceramic is of course better...but I have no clue how much it would cost to get it coated at a company. I've been told anywhere from $150-300. I just got header paint (por-20) and it'll work very nicely. Protects up to 1400 degrees, lots of f-body guys use it. I got it sandblasted first, then painted in a booth, so it's on there good, just needs to cure on the car now.

If you want to save money, install them yourself. Install on headers can be like $500 alone. What I'm doing is installing the headers and flex myself, driving to a local muffler shop, and having them weld up the cat, and cutting off the 2.25" flange on current exhaust and welding it all up so it's 2.5" from header outlet back to muffler. Should turn out very nice. They're only charging me like $30 for welding.

When you order the flex from S&S it comes with the bend also? Hmm, that's an interesting thing to know...

Well....I made them take the part out of the box and confirm it with me, but I'll know 100% when it gets to my door step.

It is supposed to come with the bend. If you get a flex pipe without the bend, send it back. They accidentally sent me one that didn't have a bend...I guess it was for a GP. I have the right one coming in the mail

Got the right one in the mail! Has the 45 degree bend, and flex section. Proof that they do have a strictly flex section for $75!!

Depends on the state and their smog regulations.

No. A high-flow cat is not illegal. It's only illegal if your car does not pass the tailpipe emissions test. So, it will vary from car-to-car depending on the condition of the engine and smog equipment. For states that don't require the test, as long as you have a cat of some sorts, it is 100% legal! Hell, most hi-flow cats have a CARB exception which is one of the HARDEST emissions standards to pass thanks to good 'ole People's Republik of California.

It is illegal to replace the stock cat with a different cat if your car has less than 50k in most states I do believe. I know when I got my exhaust redone, oh... 6 year ago, the shop said they couldn't replace the cat unless my car had over 50k on it. I have heard this from several different people as well.

Here in Illinois, if you have OBDII all you have to do is not throw codes in the computer that are emissions related.
