Ok.....here is my update ....

good news, I just installed the 62mm TB from FDP.....it looks great! The idle is much better....still around 1200 rpm....but thats much better than 3000!!!

will work on the porting the plenum later today....

bad news....... car won't downshift.....what is going on?? I have had the DHP PCM for over a week and a half..... then i had the idle problems due to the TB being over ported......

the SVS (service vehicle soon) light and the SES (service engine soon) light are both on!??

what is svs for???

should i disconnect the battery cable? also the top cable to the throttle....( the cruise control one with the button that clips on) is real tight....i disconnected it due to not enough slack.... and it still does not downshift?? please help!

I would say so, give that thing some time to think about all that air going in now.

here my email correspondence with Franz at FDP.......read bottom to top......Great Customer Service....and a really great looking product!!!! Great Price.... and it does use your stock sensor and shaft and mount....but the Aluminum is all custom!!! and a thinner custom blade or plate also!

(me)
you are right on the money! it was the TPS !!!! I checked it yesterday at autozone on the way home from work! good guess....I will readjust the cruise control cable the afternoon when I port the plenum.......also I am going to port it with it on.....it will take a few times but I think it will workout fine.

Hi Mike,
THe cable may need to be adjusted some, so it's not so tight. Just trace the cable back to it's origin, and there should be some kind of adjustment. There's a couple of different methods GM uses, but it's not too complicated.
As for the engine lights being on, disconnect the battery overnight, and that should clear that up.
I've never had anyone with a downshift problem after putting the TB on before. Your transmission is computer controlled, so either a TPS signal is messed up, or that other cable has something to do with it. Let me know.
Thanks agian Mike

disconnected the battery cable overnite....no more lights....though it did take a sec or two to start up....but that is norm from diconnecting the battery.

stupid shop said i needed a new TB...the biggest problem was the TPS being out! Of course they want to charge what costs the most......

I would have used an OBD11 scanner but...... my car always had the check engine light on due to the idle!

anyway.....i am totally satisfied and pleased with FDP Performance! They come thru in a hurry!

Glad to hear it. My heads that I have them working on are 6 months in the works. He's always been helpful.

sounds like you had some fun with this. and yeah it seems like the shops just "know" what is wrong. and "know" it is the expensive stuff
