Okay, a girl at work's SES light has been going off and on for the past 3-5 months and she got the code read and was told it was her O2 sensor.

How many O2 sensors are on the 2.4L engine, and how would I go about replacing them? What steps are involved, etc? Is there a way to tell which O2 sensor went bad? Thanks for the help.

There are two: One on the exhaust manifold, one near the catalytic converter. My second one, the one near the cat, went bad and I replaced it. Just by the wrench fitting thing from autozone and its like taking out a bolt, just be sure to do it with a cold engine.

Is it hard to access, or is it fairly simple?

Prolly help to jack up the car with either. I now have headers, making the front one MUCH easier and simple to get to. I never had to change that one, but it sits a bit high up on the downpipe near where the dp and the manifold come together.

The OBDII trouble code should tell you which O2 sensor is bad (most likely the the 1st one before the cat in the exhaust manifold).

Okay, we got the code read at Autozone and it's the second O2 sensor. It said "Bank 1 Sensor 2."

Now, my ? is, does anyone have the part number? It was going to be $74 at Autozone. I was wondering how much I could get it from GMPartsDirect. Thanks guys!

Dan, I call ratchet wrenches "shiny things that click when you turn em". Im not good with tool names. Just go and ask for an 02 sensor wrench, theyll hook you up.
