Ok fellas, here goes. First day of grad classes, and after I come out of my night class and get into my 98 GA, my turning signals don't work. Left or right, when I move the lever, it doesn't make my outside lights flash nor does the dash indicator. However, after I complete the turn, it makes the clicking sound as if it turned off. What's broken, and how do I go about fixing it?
Honestly, I have to get this fixed quickly, because otherwise I'm driving dangerously without signals.
PS- would this be covered under factory warranty (i have the extended 6yr 60k mile)
Thanks,
Dave

check the fuse it could be loose or blown.

Also check the connector behind the hazard on the dash panel. Your whole flasher control module is in the long plastic box behind the hazard switch and I remember my flashers wouldn't work when I had that part removed to install my MP3 player.
If it is in fact blown I would think that it would be covered by your extended waranty, assuming electronic components are covered at all (they're not always).

They have a 98 though. I do not think that applies to them though the design could be similar. I too would make sure you don't have a blown fuse.

There's a couple things I would check
1. Fuses
2. Connection
3. The relay itself ( I know mine went bad on my 2000 )

the relay on my 94 was in the dash, under the steering wheel. It was a round metal thing, circular with some plugs on the bottom. Might be different for 98 though. Definetly check the fuse though, mine was notorious for going bad. hell the left signal didnt even work and it still blew :)

Well, here's what happened. After they wouldn't work, I went out to my car and pulled the turn signal fuse. It didn't look burned out, but I still replaced it with a new one. But the turn signals still didn't work. So I put the old fuse back in, and they still didn't work. I tried my hazards, and THEY worked (outside and on the dash) so I knew nothing was burned out. Then, I started up the car and tried the turn signals, and they worked. They're worked for 2 days since, and I'm baffled. I hope my electrical system didn't short out or something :)

could have just been a loose fuse. I know it's happened countless times to me.
