window stuck down!

damnet to hell my drivers side window is stuck down. freakin power crap always breaks, how do i fix it and fast. i heard about the stupid window regulator and stuff, is that my problem for sure? anyone else replace theirs themselves and would like to gimme some advice? i have a 97 GT coupe.

Prob is the regulator. Luckily when mine went, it was off and on, so I just stopped using the window until I got it fixed. Was warrantee though.


You could check ebay for the part.

i thought mine was the regulator but when i took the door panel off i found out it was one of the arms that is attached to the window and allows it to slide up and down the track. thre isa piece of plastic that is on the back side of the track attached to the metal wire that goes up and down the track. that was the piece that was broke on mine. you might want to check that out.

ditto...it would sometimes go up really slowly with my pulling it up to allign it and other times it wouldn't budge...happened about 6 months after i got the car.

The problem with the regulator, the wire things and clips that move the window up a down, is that when you break one of the little clips, you gotta replace the whole regulator. Can't just buy and install the clips, gotta buy the whole thing, thanks GM. Big money for it too.

yea i have that problem now....after messing w/ the window buttons to put leds in, now my window wont go up....i dont think its the regulator tho cuz it was working fine when i started the led project. and the car has only been run to the store and back....i think i might have messed up whatever is under the button.....cuz all the windows (and buttons) work fine....:confused:
