Team GA,

I was in the driveway washing and waxing my GAGT while listening to my radio when I later went to go out and my battery was out, turned the key, and heard the clicking noise. The car radio was only on for about 45 min. and for the battery to be out so quickly bothers me. I've heard horror stories about the alarm draining the battery but the alarm was on valet. My Stock radio is acting wierd, the display is acting beserk. One more thing, my dad was using the cigarette lighter and It got stuck, blew out the fuse. I removed the lighter and replaced the fuse (after swearing for 15 min.).

After all this, I am wondering if anyone had radio problems, or fuse problems in any relation to this? I want to do the least expensive thing before I take it in to be repaired. ( out of warranty!! )

Thanks,

Kev

Does the battery have any kind of voltage across the terminals? Have you tried jumping it to see if it runs? Make sure the terminals on the battery are tight and corrosion free. Sounds like your battery is dead, the cheapest thing to do to fix it would be to replace the battery.

Ditch the stock Delco battery. I've had nothing but problems with them on my 99 GA and my wife's 99 GTP. When I got the 02, I yanked it right away and put in an Optima. I had 2 Delco batteries go bad on the GTP. The GTP's got a red top in it too and we've been problem free since.

I have bought a red top optima battery, i have killed that battery a few times, well actually my bro or sis has cause they left something on. Anyway, i have jumped and started it a few times, I would say I have had to do this like 6 times. The battery is still going strong. It lost maybe like 5% juice in it. I would always upgrade in a battery.
