Can anyone tell me where the headlight adjusters are on the 97 GA model, or even better, point me to a picture or diagram of where they are located. All I've found is what looks like gear teeth in a small hole at the top of the headlamp assembly. Turning this appears to have no effect on the headlight aim.
Thx

Those are the headlamp adjusters. My wife's 97 GA
headlamps needed adjusting and I found the same
gears. I used a flat screwdriver and turned the
gears. It adjusts very slowly and the screwdriver
missed the gear teeth fairly offen. Never did get them fully adjusted right. Seems I ran out of adjustment or something, but they're better.

Thank you for replying. I actually did take the headlight assembly out and disassemble it to check it out. There are two adjusters, as I had suspected, however, I hadn't found the one hidden away at the bottom of the headlight assembly.
You will find that the gear teeth are made just perfectly to accomodate a Phillips screwdriver. Works like a charm, much faster than trying to adjust using a flat driver. The adjuster at the top of the assembly moves the headlight in the in/out direction. The one that is tucked away in the back bottom of the assembly adjusts the headlight up or down.
You do need to be careful when adjusting them, as I found out the hard way. Rust had built up on the adjusting screw, and since the adjuster itself only has a plastic center insert, it is extremely easy to strip the threads out of it. (Great design GM!!!). And of course, you can't just buy that one piece, you have to buy the whole headlamp assembly. And the threads are a non-standard pitch so you can't rethread them.
I ended up breaking out the plastic centers and rebuilding them with a metal epoxy and threading them using the adjuster screw before the epoxy was still slightly pliable. Works great!
