I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am SE with a factory installed Delco radio (including CD player). I recently had an alternator and battery installed. The theft lock was engaged and I have the code. Someone else picked up the car and attempted to turn the radio on. I am uncertain what sequence of buttons they entered, but the display now reads SEC. I turned the key to the ACC mode for one hour, but it did not change the display status. Both the radio and CD player do not work. I have seen some on-line instructions giving directions from the LOC mode. Does anyone know how I can get from SEC to LOC mode?

P.S.: At no time did I see INOP.

Thanks,

I don't know if this helps but try (from the my '99 owner's manual):

"...If the code entered is incorrect, SEC will appear on the display.
The radio will remain secured until the correct code is entered..."
So (maybe-?) try entering the code.
Press the MIN button & 000 will appear on the display.
Press MIN button again to make the last 2-digits agree with your code.
Press HR button to make the 1st one or two digits agree with your code.
Then press AM-FM button.
Try the power ON knob.

"...If you enter the wrong the code eight times, INOP will appear on the display.
You will have to wait an hour with the ignition ON before you can try again.
When you try again, you will have only 3 more chances (eight tries per chance) to enter the correct code before INOP appears..."
