I was looking through my Summit Catalog tonight and noticed that Jet Performance makes a Fan Switch for F-bodies. Does anyone know if this would work on our cars?

Here is the description from Summit.

"We bet you didn't know that your GM computer doesn't switch the fan on until your engine gets to 225 degrees. That's not the best thing for engine power or life. This JET fan switch turns on at a much cooler 200 degrees and cools until the engine is back to 185 degrees. Comes complete with installation instructions and mounting hardware."

My car likes to run 3 clicks past 200 with the AC off in rush hour and stop and go street driving. I would like to get it down to around 200.

Personally, I like seeing the gauge sit at 200. I'd rather have manual control over the fans. But since I don't have the fan switch installed, I just turn on the heater full blast- I watched my temp, SITTING in traffic, drop from 220 to 200 in about 2 minutes. Works like a charm :)

You can DIY w/out but that kit but, it most likely will cause a SES light to come on. I didn't feel like spending $90 that only turns on your high speed fans. Its pretty cheap to DIY, 16 awg wire, 2 switches and a few connectors....

Hey there is a simpler DIY Race mod...
Put a switch on your AC Clutch wire...
Then turn the clutch off and the air on...
Both fans cooling and no AC pump sucking power...
NOTE: Your AC of course will not work in this mode:cool:
