Side profile: note the side-pipe exhaust, flip front hood. Pretty short wheelbase for a truck.

Here she is - all 455 cubic inches of tire-shredding glory. Completely rebuilt 455 Rocket. There are $5K worth of new parts in the drivetrain alone.

Olds motor in a Ford? (Merc) heh

Rear shot of chassis alone. Had to custom build rear suspension. We took her on the highway after the rebuild with rear leaf-springs.... First time I put the hammer down, she folded the springs in half.... so no more leaf springs.

This is her last week - bodywork finished on the cab. Interior, underside, and firewall have been undercoated. Fenders molded in, all metal seams filled.

Here she is this week - epoxy primed, ready for blocking. The firewall and floor pan are custom - the originals were too rotten to keep, and the big block didn't fit against the original firewall anyway.

Last one: you can see the smoothed dash. There's still a lot of work to do, but the worst is over.

Posi rear-end from a '70-something Buick wagon. Unsure of gearing. This is actually the Rocket's second transplant. Was originally dropped in the Buick and the car was wrecked. We (my brother and I) chanced upon the wagon and picked it up for $700!!

Man... That's a sweet truck. Reminds me of the '53 GMC I had. Note... had. I sold it because I ran out of money. :(
