Tonight I got to drive home from Gr (1 hour) on one headlight. My pass side wont light up. Driver's side still works perfectly.

On the pass side, the only thing different than the drivers side is this : the male connector "pins" that fit into the oem socket arent there. I have had just bare wires shoved into the oem 9007 socket, and its worked fine for a year. Now, nothing whatsoever. The pass side bulb/ballast/ignitor doesnt work when it is hooked to the driver's side either. Anything visible that could fail (something I could check) in this kit?

If I cant get em running by sunday, Ill have one ballast/ignitor/bulb up for sale, 5200k, Mcchulloch brand. Ill throw in the pass side for free, hopefully someone could get it to work.

I love my HID's so frigging much, this drives me crazy to take em off. I hope I can figure something out. Thanks for any ideas!!

SOLD! J/K Have you tried a wiring harness for them? I know a few companies make a harness with a relay for the headlights so they're both getting full juice direct from battery.
To troubleshoot the setup also try switching the ballasts around and see if they still ignite.

Is the ballast touching the metal of the car?

Nope, wrapped up in elec tape. If it did touch, the bulb would usually light, but it doesnt :(

Im going to buy some "temporary" silverstars this afternoon. The thing is, i keep telling myself i need to save for my next car (my ga has 90000 miles) but i know ill end up buying another friggin set of HID's. I loved those suckers. To bad i dont have a motorcycle, id only need one ...

It seems like the ballast has gone bad. Try taken out the bulb from the working side and hook it up to the ballast that isn't working.

I bought silverstars in may to hold me over until I got around to putting in HIDs. 4 months later and the color is gone. I paid 40 freakin $$$ for a pair of ordinary halogens. It does not last long at all. It may have something to do with the lights being on all the time (drls). Still, not what I expected.

Dave.. bare wires just bad.. at least splice into the stock wiring with a good tap if you absolutely have to.

Get some male 9007 sockets and pins, so you can do this:

Then yes... swap parts and verify you have a bad ballast.

No warranty with those ???

No warranty since i already bought em used. Does seem to be that the pass side ballast went bad. Ive got it up on ebay hoping some motorcyclist can use it. I do intend to get myself HID's again one day before it gets too cold to work on the car... Most likely the same kit you have seth, 7000k from misterjung. Looks to be a good kit, hopefully he can get the ballast covers.

The ballast had sparked against the chassis, and im assuming that happend one too many times and fried it somehow. So, sucks to be me, but You know damn well ill be lighting up the night again soon. Ive got my crappy silverstars for now. :(
