Since I just ordered the rest of the SC/T kit I have been doing some research. I have noticed that the top of the side rockers (on all of the pics I have seen) do not line up to the top of the door moldings very well......Whats up with that?? Anyone else notice that?? I'll post some pics of my findings in a minute....

Pic 1

In all the pics I see it looks like the SC/T sides are a bit lower than the door panel on every car!

This appears to only happen on the coupe's

maybe you could cut it, add in some fiberglass and then put it back together?

I'n not cutting anything....I'm glad I noticed it though.....Now when I do the install I'm gonna push that mother F'er up as high as I can get it with the pins still fitting in.

I see what you're saying, but I really didn't notice it until you just pointed this out. It's very minor and not worth worrying about.

maybe because the door is curved inwards at the bottom...and the rockers are straight?...my 2 cents...

mike's now has NO difference in height:

what he did was cut some of the plastic out inside the door jam towards the back, right wehre the bottom-back edge of the door would go when shut... then it could move up some more with out the door hitting it.

I vaguely understand what your saying......I'll have to call Mike and get some pointers before I install my rockers.....If you read this Mikey post-up some install tips

Hey Pace! The door jam is very very tight in the front and rear corners of the rocker, infact we had to grind it a bit. The front does squeak every so often cause its SUCH a tight fight. Key thing to use, was this double stage heavy duty black 3M epoxy to install the rockers. My dad modified them a tad too. I can ask him if he would install it for you for some $$ after installing mine. Before, on that Show1edit pic, they were installed the night before by me and Jeff (GTManiac) and we did as best we could. But my dad finished her up the right way. Let me know!

You will need a dremel. Its a tight fit, corners will need to be dremeled. Infact, we had to dremel on the underside as well of the kit.

Believe it or not the plant has the same problem with the normal GT rockers..But this only seems to happen on 2 door modles, rarely do I get a call about a 4 door fit...I have found that alot of the times it is a actual door fit to the body problem or the door molding was installed too high..you could always move your door molding done to make it match..

Putting that door molding back on is a BIATCH. I threw that out as an offer to fix the problem, and my dad quickly refused.

You can cheat the rocker molding up alittle by removing the screvits in the rear wheel well, but you still have to mess with the dreded 3m tape..lol...

Very interesting observation- glad I only ordered the chin spoiler. I would have to take out a mortgage on my house to have the rest of it installed. Too bad I dont know people that can do this stuff in Wisconsin.

Well after looking at my 1999 stock GAGT I noticed mine is off by about 1/8 of an inch

the tape sucks because i re-applied the double sided tape straight from the manufactuer and preped the area and everything and the rocker kept popping off, so i went ahead with the epoxy route as well, no problems yet
