I just got an auto meter gauge and for some really strange reason i lost one of the 2 adaptors( thing that replaces the test plug on the tranny and also holds the sender)... I still have the larger one(1/2" i think) of the two and just wanted to know if anyone knows what one is used in the install. The bigger one or the smaller one?
And also if anyone has any better instructions( pictures would be SWEET!) than the ones in the Mod section of this forum that would be great. I was under my car for a while today with the picture provided by this site and i couldnt find the test plug area. Thanks!
P.S. I think that the one i lost was a 3/8"

You're right, I read too fast, too late :( . didn't catch the better part. Not sure what else you want to know, but those instructions are perfect.
IIRC the temp sender is the smaller of the two, I didn't use an adaptor just put the sender in.

I'm pretty sure it does, hopefully someone else will chime in. That gauge is one of the first things I ever installed but I'm pretty sure theresn o adapter.

Ok... lay down on the ground under the front, get up on ramps or jack it up if you have to. Take off the little shroud that covers the oil filter, starter, etc..
Follow the transmission cooler lines back to the transmission (if u look in the tranny cooler install thread, there are more pics). The bottom line, youll see the test plug right to the right. IIRC you have to use a 6" socket extension, or get creative with a wobble socket, to get in there.
