Cleared my HVAC knobs and...

I must say, I'm impressed with what I ended up with...it looks smooth enough to have come factory..I used my Dremel and a polishing bit for the final sanding, and added some clear coat.

One question...for you guys that did this, if you did use a clear coat, how many coats did you use to achieve a very nice shiny knob? I've done about 3, but would rather do them while I can before I start handling them again..thanks.

i went with silver paint instead of clear coat...

I threw on some light coats of tint (not too much just a touch) on the knobs and really smoothed out the knobs and gave the knobs a deeper solid red look then about 5 coats of clear coat... came out great! during the day it matches the interior and looks black with a hint of red & at night lights up a nice red. :thumbs:

I put about 10 light coats over mine and they shine like mad. Just keep putting coat after coat until you are done.

yea i should add the 5 coats were good but i went with a few more a day or so later! so hey the more the better whatever u like, u figure it out! Im sure u'll love em either way
